About Paul

Paul is certified by Guruji, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, to teach the traditional method of Ashtanga Yoga. He is also a long time, dedicated students of Sri O.P.Tiwari, one of the few remaining classical yogis and master of pranayama, and is certified by him to teach Pranayama. He has practiced pranayama for many years under Tiwariji’s direct guidance which has led to deep insight and understanding of the practice. He uses this as a base for intelligence in asana to be applied appropriately for the student. Paul continues with his regular routine of asana, pranayama and meditation on a daily basis and through love of the subject matter keeps up a keen study of the classical texts and scientific interpretations of what goes on in yoga.
Paul grew up in Dublin. After completing his degree at Trinity College he was bound for New York where his life in yoga began. Since 2001 he has been in Asia between Thailand and India with a primary focus on practice and study. With his wife, Jutima, they opened Yoga Thailand and continue to enjoy living there, especially since the arrival of two lovely sons, Sean and Dylan.

About Manju

Born on November 16th, 1944, Manju Jois is the son of Guruji, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. At the age of 7, Manju was awakened early each day by his father to begin lessons that would forever change the course of his life and the lives of those who would study with him in the years to come. He began teaching at the age of 15 with his father and has taught continuously for the last 44 years.

It was in 1975 that they taught a two-month workshop to eager students in California. This was the first time that Ashtanga yoga was brought to the U.S. Manju decided to stay in the U.S. and teach and he has been doing so continuously on the east and west coasts and internationally ever since. Nearly 35 years since Guruji and Manju first brought Ashtanga to the U.S., it has grown to be one of the most popular forms of Yoga in the West, practised by millions, and Pattabhi Jois a now a world-renowned Guru. Manju's intention is to teach in the way of the ancient tradition and bring the many benefits of Ashtanga yoga to his students. It is our great privilege and pleasure to have him come to share his great depth of knowledge of the practice with us.
